If all goes well, the games will begin on February 19 and the season will conclude with the final on March 9.

After the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in 2009, fears among cricketers about visiting Pakistan have increased. Several teams including New Zealand, England, West Indies, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have toured Pakistan in recent years, but India and Australia have not.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not been able to host any ICC events since the Lahore attack. After a long year, Pakistan is once again gearing up to host a major ICC event. Pakistan last co-hosted the 1996 ODI World Cup with India and Sri Lanka.
As the Indian cricket team refused to tour Pakistan, the Indian matches of the Champions Trophy will be played in Dubai, while the other matches will be played in Pakistan.
According to PCB, preparations for the Champions Trophy are underway. Stadium tours for the media have been organized in Lahore and Karachi on Monday.
Eight teams will participate in this 50-over event in the Champions Trophy. Stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi are being upgraded to host matches.
PCB spokesperson Samiul Hasan said that the renovation and development work of Gaddafi Stadium (Lahore) is going on. The stadium is expected to be handed over to them by the end of this month.
He also said that Gaddafi Stadium is being prepared to host the Champions Trophy preparatory match between Australia and England on February 22, where the spectator capacity has been increased to 35,000.
