A would-be pilot, daughter of Indian immigrants and figure skating champion are among the dead in the DC plane crash.

An American Airlines regional jet and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter collided mid-air on Wednesday night, killing all 67 people on board. It is a tragic tragedy, which has brought a heartbreaking terror to the bereaved family. 
The day will be remembered as the deadliest air disaster in America since 2001. The process of identifying the bodies of those missing in the unfortunate accident is fast-tracked, and as the bodies are identified, the atmosphere is heavy with the cries of relatives. 
Some of the victims of the tragedy identified so far are as follows:

Sam Lilly
Among the victims of this tragedy was a young fiancé, Sam Lilly, who was piloting the American Airlines flight just minutes before it landed safely. His plane collided with an Army helicopter and crashed into the Potomac River in Virginia.

The plane was minutes away from a safe landing when it collided with a military helicopter.Lilly's father, Timothy Lilly, wrote on Facebook Thursday, "I was so proud of Sam when he was a pilot. Now my heart is breaking and I'm crying. I know I'll never see him again, but I'm so sad." I can't handle it." 

Lily is 28 years old He was the first officer of that flight and his father said he was doing great in his career and personal life. Timothy Lilley said, "Losing someone like this is so painful, we love them so much. Losing a child is the worst day of my life." Timothy, who served as a helicopter pilot in the military for 20 years, believes the commercial jet was flying safely. He said, "It seems they hit the jet directly. The PSA jet was doing everything right. The army pilot made a serious mistake. It hurts me because they are my brothers, and now my son is dead."

Jonathan Campos, the captain of an American Airlines flight, was also killed. Campos became captain of the airline in 2022, a colleague said. A member of the Campos family Edward Campos  said, "He was a wonderful person. He loved to fly and had a deep lovefor his family."  The incident occurred near the Potomac River in Virginia. Ian Epstein, 53, was working as a flight attendant on an American Airlines flight that crashed Wednesday night. Her sister, Robbie Bloom, confirmed the news.

Bloom said, "My brother was a wonderful man. He loved life, loved to travel, and had a deep love for work and family. We will miss him immensely."  
Epstein, who worked as a flight attendant for several years, is survived by two children and two stepchildren. "He made friends everywhere he went. He talked to the passengers on the plane as if they were all his new friends," Bloom said.

Asra Hussain Raja was an American Airlines passenger who died in the helicopter crash. According to Dr. Hashem Raja

Asra Hossain Raja, 26, was one of the victims, his father-in-law. Hashim Raja. He said ,daughter of Indian immigrants, Asra Hussain Raja graduated from Indiana University in 2020 with honors and married his college sweetheart in August 2023.Asra Hossain Raja was a Washington, DC-based consultant who traveled to Wichita twice a month to work on a turnaround project for a hospital there. She said he would often call her at the end of her emergency room shift, when she was free, to make sure he was awake at home.

Her father-in-law, saddened, said, "There is no need to wait any longer for her." 

4 steamfitter union members were killed

Four steamfitter union members were among those killed in the deadly clash, it was announced on Friday. A steamfitter is a professional who installs and maintains piping systems that carry steam, water, and other liquids or gases, and typically works in power plants, factories, and construction sites.

"We are heartbroken to learn of the deaths of four members of UA Steamfitters Local 602 in the crash of American Airlines Flight 5342," said the United Association of Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry Journeymen and Apprentices of the United States and Canada.

"Our main focus now is to provide support and care to the brothers' families, and we will gather more information in the coming days," the union said. They are planning a national relief campaign for the families of the victims.

Boston Skating Club's Jinnah Han dies in DC plane crash

The Skating Club of Boston named Jinnah Han among the victims of the DC plane crash, in which her mother was killed. The club said on Thursday that those killed in the accident included a married pair of skating champions, two young skaters and their two parents.

Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov were the 1994 World Figure Skating Champions, representing Russia. They later moved to the United States and began a successful coaching career. Their son, Maxim Naumov, finished fourth at the U.S. men's figure skating championships last weekend.

Among those killed were skater Spencer Lane and her mother Christine Lane, as well as Jinna Hahn and her mother Jeanne Hahn, the skating club said. The tragedy will have a profound impact on the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston in March.

The passengers on the American Airlines flight included athletes and others, who were returning from a development camp in conjunction with the US Figure Skating Championships. The Skating Club of Boston has named six people who died who participated in the event in Kansas.

U.S. Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, who came to Boston's Skating Club Thursday to show her support for the victims of the tragedy, said, "I've never seen someone who loved skating die like that." 

Kerrigan shared her feelings, "I don't know how to get over it. I was watching the whole night, and when I found out that I knew some of the people on the plane, it was a really big shock."

"It would be very strange not to come here and see it, especially for people who work here day and night. It would be really difficult," he said.
