Recently, a citizen of Bangladesh lost his life at the border. All in all, we have expressed deep concern to the Indian High Commissioner about the border situation.

The Foreign Secretary said that discussions have been held with the Indian High Commissioner about organizing a BGB-BSF Director General (DG) level meeting in Delhi, India next month (February) to resolve the current border situation.

Earlier, Indian High Commissioner Prannoy Verma told reporters from the Ministry of External Affairs that there is an understanding between the two countries regarding the installation of barbed wire fences on the border. The border guarding forces of the two countries will work together with the BSF of India and the BGB of Bangladesh to fight crime on the border.Prannoy Verma said, "I have discussed with the foreign secretary. I spoke about India's commitment to ensuring a crime-free border. We discussed the challenges of smuggling, movement of criminals, smuggling effectively.

Regarding the construction of barbed wire fence on the border, the High Commissioner of India said, "We have an understanding on the construction of barbed wire fence on the border for security. In this regard, there is communication between the border guarding forces of the two countries, BSF and BGB. We hope that this understanding will be implemented through cooperation on countering crime at the border.
