Refrain from destroying property of Hasina's family or attacking any citizen: Chief Adviser

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus urged all the citizens of the country to be responsible from their respective positions to keep the overall law and order situation of the country normal. He urged them to refrain from destroying the property of Sheikh Hasina's family and not to attack any citizen of the country on the grounds of being a person associated with the politics of the fascist Awami League or on any other pretext.

This call was made in a statement on the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser today, Friday.

In the statement, Professor Yunus said that Sheikh Hasina had kept the power axed by torturing and oppressing the people for years. It is understandable for the reason that the protestors and their relatives have been the victims of Sheikh Hasina's persecution for years, so they are angry.

The chief adviser said, "Sheikh Hasina, who was deposed in a mass coup, is still trying to gather her party's terrorists, seeking to destabilize the country's situation, despite taking refuge in New Delhi. Sheikh Hasina, who has established a regime of oppression in Bangladesh for years, is still trying to obstruct the reconstruction of Bangladesh.

Explaining the anger that has spread in the minds of the people of the country as a result, the Chief Advisor said, "Despite this, the government is urging all the citizens of the country to abide by the law. By doing this, we can establish ourselves as a law-abiding nation to the world. The new Bangladesh that we are working together to build will be different from the old Bangladesh under the fascist regime, only by obeying the law.'' He said, 'Let us not undermine the sense of security and stability of Bangladeshis; Any disregard for the law is a threat to the life and property of citizens.'

Calling on the citizens who rose up to realize the country's dream by overthrowing Sheikh Hasina's regime last July and August, the Chief Adviser said, 'It is imperative to prove to ourselves and our friends around the world that we respect each other's civil and human rights and abide by the law. Our commitment to this principle is unwavering.

The chief adviser said that the winners of the new Bangladesh achieved through the bloody movement must not do anything that calls into question the current democratic institutions of the country and creates an opportunity to compare with the dictator Hasina's era. He said, "Our security forces are aware of this serious situation. The government is working with the country's security forces to maintain the law and order situation and protect the lives and property of all Bangladeshis. If there is an attempt to destabilize the country through destruction of property, attacks on persons or any kind of provocative activity, the law enforcement agencies will immediately take strict action against anyone creating chaos and anarchy. The government will bring people and groups responsible for such activities to justice.

The chief adviser pointed out that the leaders of the fascist regime had left the country in complete ruins. He said, 'As long as we are careful and maintain our ethics, there is no chance for them to come back. They will take any attack on their property as an opportunity to attract international attention and promote their fabricated story.”

Stating that dictator Sheikh Hasina and her associates are under trial for crimes against humanity, the chief adviser said, "The whole world is with us." Any deterioration in law and order at this moment will send the wrong message to the world.

The Chief Adviser urged all citizens to realize the dream of building a country where all Bangladeshis can live with security and dignity, work with self-control and bring positive change in the country by using their energy in creative, peaceful work.
